Time flies when you’re having fun and for those of us in Colorado, it’s hard to believe that ski season has officially arrived. The beginning of fall in the high country had an unusual start with snow storm upon snow storm blanketing the Rocky Mountains shortly after an unseasonably warm summer. Keystone and Breckenridge Resort both reported the snowiest October in their entire history with accumulations of over 22 inches during the week of October 27, 2019. Many of us took advantage of Keystone’s early start, joining in on the festivities of opening day and all of the fun events that followed for the Keystone Kickoff.
And today, November 8th, Breckenridge Resort is finally open. Making the option to ski or ride on different mountains an early reality for those of us with an Epic Pass. Like most mountains opening this early, terrain will be limited. I highly suggest downloading the Epic Mix App to get real time information on which runs are open and how long lift lines are.

If you’re planning on visiting for opening weekend, try checking out the Town of Breckenridge after taking a few laps at the resort. Main St. Breck has a great selection of restaurants and bars for every taste and budget, plus it is walking distance from the gondola. And if you find yourself at the free skiers parking lot down Airport Road, don’t miss Breckenridge Distillery for drinks and dinner, or Broken Compass for delicious craft beer.
As always, let’s continue to #PrayforSnow. We need those dream like conditions that make Colorado the best place for skiing and riding. Any questions? Let me know!
This is the second year I am sponsored by Epic Pass, but my fourth year as an Epic Pass holder. So obviously, all opinions are my own!
Oh em geee! I cannot wait to get back to Breckenridge this season!

I actually don’t have a comprehensive guide to eating in Breckenridge… yet. At the top of my head, I like Hearthstone and Modis for a nice dinner (pricey yet worth it), Fattys and Bangkok Happy bowl are casual places (food is good but prices are high) , that’s all I can think of for now. I really should create a more detailed list and create a blog post.

It is so gorgeous there! I love seeing the fresh snow on the slope and the pines. It feels so good to be out there in the middle of all of it.

I cannot imagine what I’d do with snow accumulations of 22” in October!!! I live in western PA and we get enough although much less than that! I’m totally ready to move to a Warner snow free climate!

Haha! We love it because more snow means smooth, fluffy skiing and snowboarding! I heard winters are pretty rough in the East. I couldn’t imagine living somewhere snow isn’t celebrated 😊
