A beautiful little town, high up in the Rocky Mountains, Breckenridge encompasses a mixture of modern ski town with old mining roots. Just steps away from the resort’s gondola are old fashioned buildings lined up along Main Street containing shops and restaurants that everyone will love.
From winter to spring, skiers and snowboarders fill up the town to make the most of the incredible snowfall and first-class amenities that Breckenridge Resort has to offer. Breck, as the locals call it, has 2908 skiable acres across 5 peaks and is home to the highest chairlift in North America. It is an impressive resort with wide runs, tree runs, and above alpine terrain which makes this resort perfect for everybody at every level.

For the 2018-2019 season, Breckenridge Resort made an announcement that excited every Epic Pass holder. Typically closing around mid-April, Breck extended their season to Memorial Day (May 27th), by keeping intermediate to expert terrain open on Peaks 6, 7, and 8. The resort has called this extended season, Breck’s Spring Finale, with activities and entertainment every weekend along with the 1,000 acres of terrain that are still open.

A weekend in Breck has become easier and more affordable during the Spring Finale. Although the gondola is closed, parking in the gondola lot is now free and right next to the lot are buses waiting to take skiers/riders to the base of the resort. In addition to free parking, lodging is significantly discounted and many restaurants in town offer discounts on meals.

If you’re looking for a weekend getaway with amazing spring skiing conditions, Breckenridge Resort is the best place to go this month. And if you can’t make it before closing day this year, consider getting an Epic Pass for next season to enjoy the entire resort during winter and the limited terrain from April to May. I’m currently at almost 50 days of snowboarding this season and with this extension, I’m hoping to make it to at least 60!

If you have any questions about Breck or spring skiing in general, let me know in the comments. See you on the mountain!
Disclaimer: I was given a free Epic Pass this season but my family has been pass holders for 3 years, so obviously, all opinions are my own!
Crazy there is still so much snow up there at this time of the year
