When shoulder season approaches in the Colorado Rockies, those of us who live in the middle of mountains are looking for the nearest getaway when the weekend rolls around. Don’t get me wrong, I love living in Vail and these views never get old, but when the ski resorts are closed and the trails are still wet and muddy, I’m escaping on I 70 to head either east or west where the elevation is lower and the temps are warmer.

A few months ago, I recently discovered how amazing the little town of Golden is. A quick hour and a half drive from Vail, this charming little town is full of life and beauty. Since this discovery, we’ve found ourselves taking several weekend trips to Golden. It’s a fun escape for the whole family including our pup, Jack. I love the food, the culture, museums, and trails, and I definitely love the Table Mountain Inn where we feel right at home every time we visit.
The Table Mountain Inn is located in the middle of Downtown Golden. It sits right along some of the best restaurants and shops, and has the best views of North Table Mountain. After a long day of exploring, we love sitting on the patio and watching the sunset then heading downstairs for dinner at the Table Mountain Grill and Cantina where they have a beautiful bar and the best margaritas.

The Southwestern decor takes me back to our trips to Santa Fe, our rooms are always sparkling clean and the best part is that my dog is welcome at this beautiful boutique hotel. I know that when I stay here, I will always have a great time.
Book your room here, bring the whole family and don’t forget to grab a margarita!
